Meet Our Team

Carla Fotev, Director

ESN’s Director is Carla Fotev (nee Frayne).  As a registered psychologist, Carla has specialised in employee professional development programs and workplace issue interventions for nearly twenty years.  Carla holds a Bachelor of Psychology, Diploma of Education, Master of Educational Psychology, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Certificate III in Investigative Services. In addition to her formal qualifications, Carla has undertaken specialised training in schema focused therapy, EMBR, brief strategic therapy, solution focused brief therapy, mediation, positive psychology, workplace investigation skills, peer support training, critical incident management, and cross cultural counselling. She is an Approved Instructor in Group Crisis Intervention, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation / CIMA. Carla is also a licenced Inquiry Agent, Investigator, and Security Agent (Licence No: 39685).

She is published in the areas of Peer Support, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Neuropsychology. Carla is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, Crisis Intervention and Management Australasia (CIMA) and Certified Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute. She is only the eleventh person in Western Australia to be accredited nationally and internationally as a professional speaker, when she was awarded the designation of Professional Member (PM) by the National Speakers Association Australia. Carla is on the Management Committee of CIMA and Deputy Chairperson on the Board of Directors for Stirling Skills Training Inc.

Carla conducts interventions, training and development programs for a wide range of government, local government and corporate sector organisations across both Australia and New Zealand.  Her experience extends to conference presentations such as at the 'Making of Me' (Lunchbox List) and 2009 Critical Incident Stress Foundation of Australia national conference. An experienced psychologist, Carla has particular skills in dealing with complex situations and providing training and interventions in the areas of personal counselling, critical incident management, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, bullying and harassment, workplace grievance issues, effective management skills, performance management, management coaching, change management, diversity management, organisational behaviour, risk management, and neuropsychology.


Sue Peterson, Consultant Psychologist

Sue Peterson coordinates ESN’s services for our New Zealand clients directly from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Sue is a Registered Psychologist, holding a Master of Arts (Education and Psychology) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology.  She has over twenty years experience and specialist training in cognitive behaviour therapy, brief solution focused therapy, EMDR, clinical supervision and critical incident management. Sue brings expertise in working with individuals and groups across a variety of settings.  Her passion is in developing resilience and functional coping strategies to optimise daily functioning and positive well being.  She has most recently been heavily involved in providing services to individuals, families and organisations affected by the Christchurch Earthquakes.


Suzana Giorgi, Consultant Psychologist

Suzana is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is an Associate Memebr of the Australian Psychological Society.  Suzana has had over 17 years experience in counselling and consultancy interventions including, stress resiliency,  management skills, bullying, harassment, conflict resolution, grievance management and change management. In addition to Suzana’s extensive psychological background, she has specialised in vocational rehabilitation and working with disadvantaged client groups, both in government and the private sector. Suzana also has specialist knowledge and experience in disability services. Suzana is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.


Susan George, Consultant Psychologist

Susan George is a Registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychology.  Susan specialises in training and consultancy interventions with a focus on stress resiliency, peer support, crisis management, conflict and grievance resolution, interpersonal dynamics, neuropsychology, organisational behaviour, effective management skills, risk management, diversity, bullying and harassment and change management. She has over twenty years experience in consulting, interventions and training to promote well being and engagement. Susan’s industry experience spans State Government, Federal Government (such as Customs Services), and private sector organisations including health services, community welfare, disability services, indigenous, aged care, insurance, education and training, and recruitment organisations. Susan is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and Member of the Mental Health Professionals Network.


Kath Polglase, Consultant Psychologist

Kath is an experienced Registered Psychologist, with a Bachelor of Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Masters of Psychology. Kath specialises in training and consultancy interventions in organisational behaviour, effective management skills; conflict and grievance resolution, mediation, executive coaching, crisis management, managing difficult behaviour in the workplace, developing resilience and work-life balance, and change management. Kath has over 16 years’ experience in consulting, interventions and training to promote well being and engagement. She is a skilled facilitator and trainer providing meaningful and practical programs to organisations. Kath’s industry experience spans State Government and private sector organisations including education and training, mining and resources, health services, community welfare, and employment services. Kath is published in the area of Emotional Freedom Techniques, and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.


Mark Jeffery, Consultant

Mark Jeffery has a Bachelor of Psychology in Organisational Psychology and a background in organisational development, learning and development, and HR consulting. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a SHL Certified User - Occupational Personality Questionnaire & Motivation Questionnaire and with Human Synergistics – LSI1/LSI2, GSI. He has consulted extensively across the Government, Private and Not-For-Profit sectors. Mark has worked across mining, oil & gas, banking & finance, professional services, health, environment, construction, local government, fire & emergency services, the VET sector, equine, retail, utilities, rail, manufacturing, member based organisations, IT, defence, air craft, and a wide range of government departments and agencies. Mark specialised in organisational diagnostics, strategy & planning and leadership development and coaching.

Coordinated by Carla, each consultant is specifically chosen on the basis of their expertise and fit with the organisational need. One of the requirements with our Team Members maintain up to date professional skills, have over ten years experience in the field, and are knowledgeable across all of the areas of people risk management.
